Le Strange Shoot, Norfolk, England
Situated within the grounds of the stunning Hunstanton Hall estate - 10 minutes from Holts Auctioneers main office, the Le Strange Shoot offers year round Shooting amongst some of Norfolk’s finest landscapes.
The former ancestral home of the L’ Estrange family - there is some debate around the earliest origins of L’Estrange, one source has officer, Guy L’Estrange arriving with William the Conqueror and subsequently granted lands in Norfolk. If accurate, the ancestral family estate line stretched from Doomsday until just after World War II. The Grade I listed moated Hall dates from the C15th. Norfolk has numerous large stately homes, however an aspect that makes the Le Strange estate special today is the former deer park - a legacy of the C15th. Over centuries, seasonal weather and the hand of man may have wrought changes, but amongst the parkland - mammoth oaks, monkey puzzles and cedars, areas of mixed woodland, ponds and open glades, the landscape resonates with an ancient and timeless echo. Superb game shooting country.
